Some of my favourite & most used apps and software, most of them are free or low cost for full features.

1. Google maps

Google maps has to be the one app that I have had on every phone I have ever had and is used all time. You can’t really fault it. I don’t think it has ever let me down. I did use Waze for a while. But a lot of the Waze feature have moved to Google maps now, I think Google may own Waze now. (I will have to check this)

2. Fing

This is super useful. Fing is a quick way to find devices on your local network. For example you have connected a new device to your home or business network and need a quick way to find the IP address, then use Fing. The most useful thing I use it for is Wake on Lan, super useful to wake up that server remotely from your phone

3. Amazon music

4. Car dashboard

5. Google Analytics

If you have a website, then you need the Google analytics app for a quick overview of what’s happening with your website. The app is used to see reports from your website such as realtime visitors. The app does not have as much as the web version of analysis but it covers a lot of data you want on the move.

6. Sumup

Need to take payments for your business? That’s where Sumup comes in, affordable card payment provider. Hardware is reliable and easy to setup, when used with the app you have a complete POS system. For a discount on hardware I have this >> LINK << .

7.Syncthing

This app is so good, I discovered it many years ago. What this does it creates and keeps in sync folders on your devices, it you be different phones, phone and computers. I use it to keep a few folders on my phone in sync with a few folders on my home server.

So for example, I have setup my camera folder on my phone as a synced folder. So when I take a photo on my phone, it is automatically copied and kept in sync with my server. So I can access the photo straight away on my computer via a shared folder on my server. This works both when I am at home and working away from home.

I does take a bit of setting up, but once setup all you have to do is open the app and it does the work for you. Best of all it’s free to use!
