Jump start pack

GREPRO Jump Starter Power Pack

I bought this handy little jump start pack a few months ago, when my van was having trouble starting and since I bought it, it has not seen any use. That is until today when I went to start our lawnmower.

As soon as it was connected, to the little mower it started on the first attempt, success!!

Later that day, this jump start pack was put in to use again this time on a friend’s car, that had it’s lights left on. This time the pack was left on a little longer and the car came to life after the second attempt. So in short I recommend this jump start pack, you never know when it will be needed.

Honey Fair 2024

Honey fair 2024 was held on a Saturday 28^th of September, The Honey fair which is usually held on the first Wednesday of October was changed in 2023 to the last Saturday in September. This change was proved popular in 2023, which allowed many more people to attend. This years event has again been very busy with visitors attending from far and wide.

HD Sound & Lighting had a busy day based manly at the Town Hall helping with the entertainment on the stage, and also helping at the Prim-Raf theatre, which is home to CADS (Callington Amateur drama society) showing people around this venue, Manly who have never been inside despite living in the town for a long time. Hopefully some of these people will visit again for one of our upcoming shows (see here for upcoming shows)

Lions Club of Callington

You might not be aware that the Honey Fair is organised by Callington Lions Club, Who are all volunteers. Not only do they organise Honey Fair but they are involved with a whole lot more including, Loaning out wheelchairs, Hospital transport on a Sunday, projects identified within the community, Fundraising including bingo, quizzes.

2024 Honey fair

Callington Honey fair will be returning again, back on a Saturday as it was last year for the first time. This year we are proudly supporting the Callington Lion’s both with providing sponsorship, and donating our time time. We will be based in the Town Hall assisting with the entertainment on the stage.

BEE-sure to visit CADS in the Prim-Raf theatre in Biscombe lane, who will be opening the doors and more importantly the bar for refreshments. You will also find The CADS Youth theatre in attendance, who I’m sure will have something Un-bee-lievably entertaining for you to watch.

I’m sure it will BEE-amazing, Fingers crossed for good weather

Another Busy Week

Rehearsals

The last couple of weeks, I’ve been busy preparing for three upcoming shows at Callington’s Prim-Raf Theatre. The first is the Silver Ball, and the second is the Autumn production, featuring two one-act plays (‘The Actor’s Nightmare’ by Christopher Durang & ‘Easy Stages’ by N. J. Warburton). I have been focused on handling the technical aspects for both productions.

The Silver Ball production coincides with Gorsedh Kernow week, promising to be an exciting time in Callington with numerous activities throughout the town. Additionally, during Gorsedh week at the Prim-Raf, there will be a puppet show titled “The Piskey Path.” The Gorsedh program can be found (Here)

And the third upcoming show is the Youth Theatre’s upcoming performance, (a script in time). This show will be part of the Prim-Raf’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

September is shaping up to be a very busy month for both me and the Prim-Raf Theatre. We hope to see you at the Prim-Raf too!

Reolink Go

I really can recommended product, I have three Reolink cameras (Reolink Go). They are a fantastic. The Relink go are solar powered and use 4g. So perfect for sites without power or WiFi. The app is the perfect solution to looking after you properly. The camera will record when it detects motion, and can also notify you if needed.

The images and videos recorded can be download via your phone, pc or via the removable SD card. The supplied solar panel will keep the camera charged all summer, I have found over the winter you will need to take the battery out a couple time to charge, due to lower light levels.

Reolink also has the option for cloud backup, should anything happen to your camera. (1 camera free at the moment of writing)

This one is the upgraded version (Reolink go plus), which I have ordered but not yet used. I would keep an eye for special offers!

Quick Review of: KAM KWM1920 TWIN UHF MULTI CHANNEL RADIO MICROPHONE SYSTEM

Thought I would give a shout out to this Dual microphone set, I wasn’t sure what to expect as this is one of the cheaper Dual microphone sets on the market, But I am so impressed with this.

The build quality of the Microphones is great they feel like they are more expensive. They sound excellent, the only downside is the battery life. although a good set of rechargeable AA’s would solve this.

The range is stated to be up to 50m which seams about right from my use. it has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars on amazon, which is where I bought mine from. Link here *

At £99 that I paid, I would recommend to anyone looking for a good affordable wireless microphone set for general use. Check out current prices from Amazon *

Gorsedh – Esedhvos Festival

Goresdh Kernow is the annual gathering of the Bards of Cornwall. This year, for the first time since 1984, the Gorsedh takes place in Callington (Kelliwik) and will be celebrated with a week of Cornish cultural events, including music, poetry, art, dance and drama.

This Year:

A week long celebration of Cornish history, culture and identity from 31st August 2024 to 8th September 2024 in Callington, Cornwall / Kelliwik, Kernow, including the Gorsedh Kernow Bardic Ceremony on Saturday 7th September.

We have a full programme of events this year for the Esedhvos Kernow Festival of Cornish Culture from Saturday 31st August to Sunday 8th September, including the bardic ceremony on Saturday 7th September.

Gorsedh Ceremony

The main Gorsedh ceremony will be held on Saturday 7 September 2024 at 2.00 pm, on the sports field at Callington Community College. The wet weather venue would be the main hall in the college.
